Expert consultations on the national human rights action plan

On December 12, 2017 Minsk hosted expert consultations titled “National Human Rights Action Plan: Current Implementation and Prospects” organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN Office in Belarus.

Representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organizations (including representatives of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee), as well as representatives of the UN agencies and donor countries participated in the consultations.

The participants discussed topical questions and exchanged views on the issue of implementation of the National Human Rights Action Plan. 

For reference: Interagency plan on implementation of recommendations accepted by the Republic of Belarus following the second cycle of the United Nations Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review and recommendations addressed to the Republic of Belarus by Human Rights Treaty Bodies for 2016-2019 was approved by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic Belarus on October 24, 2016 № 860. This document is the first national human rights action plan in Belarus.
